Behind the Delaviuda brand that we know today lies a humble, family-based beginning.
A fact that marks our way of seeing things and that makes us believe even more that the artisan methods behind out products is what unites our roots.
It was 1927 when Manuel López and María Rojas opened a small confitería in the province of Toledo.
Manuel had been learning the trade since he was very young, following the family tradition.
The Confitería shop gradually gained the trust of its customers. But as in life, hard times come when they are least expected, and Manuel died in 1939.
María, a widow with two sons, kept the family business going. With hard work and determination, she not only managed to get the confitería off the ground – it actually became more and more popular.
More and more customers appreciated their know-how
And it is precisely these people who are gradually creating the brand every time they go to look for ‘de la Viuda’ sweets.
Today, following the family tradition and respecting artisan production, the Delaviuda Confitería offers the most complete range of sweets and products that enable you to travel back in time and savour the magic of The Confitería recipes.
